How to Check Balance in EPFO Portal

In today’s digital age, checking your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) balance has become easier than ever. With the EPFO portal, you can now access your EPF account details from the comfort of your home. This article will guide you through the step-by-step process of how to check your EPF balance using the EPFO portal.

Step 1: Visit the EPFO Portal

The first step to check your EPF balance is to visit the official EPFO portal. You can do this by typing “https://www.epfindia.gov.in/” in your web browser. Once the website loads, you will see a menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

Step 2: Click on ‘For Employees’ Section

Scroll down and click on the ‘For Employees’ section. This section contains various services and information specifically for EPF account holders.

Step 3: Select ‘Member Passbook’ Option

Under the ‘For Employees’ section, you will find an option called ‘Member Passbook’. Click on this option to proceed.

Step 4: Enter Your Member ID and Password

On the next page, you will be prompted to enter your Member ID and password. The Member ID is a unique 12-digit number assigned to you by your employer. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link and follow the instructions to reset it.

Step 5: Enter Your Captcha and Click on ‘Login’

After entering your Member ID and password, you will be asked to enter a captcha code. This is a security measure to ensure that you are not a robot. Once you have entered the captcha code, click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 6: View Your EPF Balance

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be redirected to your EPF account dashboard. Here, you will find your EPF balance, as well as other details such as the number of contributions made, the last contribution date, and the total amount of interest earned.

Step 7: Print or Save Your EPF Passbook

If you need a hard copy of your EPF passbook, you can click on the ‘Print’ button to generate a PDF file. You can then save the file or print it out. Alternatively, you can also save the passbook as a PDF file on your computer for future reference.

Checking your EPF balance using the EPFO portal is a simple and convenient process. By following these steps, you can easily access your EPF account details and stay updated on your contributions and balance.
